Is a PhD worth it?

Hey /sci/, I'm a materials engineer. My employer has offered to pay for me to get a PhD, and I'm not sure what to do.

I don't have a masters or anything, did a fair amount of research in uni - played lab monkey for awhile, it wasn't fun. Are the doors a PhD opens (on the technical side) worth enduring the academic, political wasteland that is graduate education?

Cheers.

If spacetime is flat (ie infinite), does that means that every thing possible has or will happen?

is there a reason people were so hyped up for jeff bezos going into space? The USSR already did that 70 years ago. Noble wannabes like elon musk and jeff bezos are busy playing with sandbox tools and doing things that were commonplace 70 years ago while China is landing probes on the dark side of the moon and the EU is landing probes on comets. Not impressive
