COVID Gaining MAD GAINZ in Mutating 40 Times

No.13464431 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Lads, what the hell is this dystopian acceleration?

Does this point to the virus having been somewhat bio-weapon engineered or is this natural accelerated biological evolution?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/08/02/virus-used-worlds-longest-covid-sufferer-gym-get-fitter-say/

The world's longest Covid sufferer had the virus for nearly 11 months during which time it mutated 40 times, using her as a "gym" to get fitter, scientists have discovered.

A Russian woman known as "Patient S" was suffering late-stage cancer when she caught Covid in April last year, having two serious bouts of illness during her infection.

She eventually tested negative this March, but during that time doctors had sequenced the virus to see how it was changing inside her body. They discovered 40 mutations, showing it was rapidly evolving.

What's the science/psychology behind how some people attract while others repel in social situations?
What makes someone "popular"? I'm pretty sure it's not just about looks.

Ok so the problem I present to you is the following:

1. Imagine that in a reality like ours, europeans reach Australia and find human remains. They don't date them or anything, don't know how recent or old they are, but let's assume they are thousands of years old in this instance. The skull belongs to the aborigines but contact has still not yet been made for one reason or another. The individual is categorized as a different species or subspecies, but not as Homo sapiens. A few years later, they contact with the aborigines and the association that the previously found skull belongs to these still living populations is made. Question: would science revert back their categorization because of this new discovery for societal reasons or keep it as it was? It would've never been questioned otherwise.

2. Within the same logic, imagine that today we find a secluded and small isolated population of neanderthals. They have their own culture, language and all of that. Would their biological categorization be changed or kept the same?

Why do people invest 10 years of their lives to look at old people for the rest of their career? Serious question.

Maths YouTubing

No.13466723 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Tbqh, I know feck all about maths but I'm thinking of making some videos anyway.
Part of the reason I'm thinking of starting a channel is to get better at maths while hopefully earning a living (3B1B calls this "Discovery Journalism" in the video bellow).
What do you guys look for in a maths channel btw? What topics do you think aren't covered well enough or at all?
What style is best? I was thinking 3B1B but his style can be a bit cold if not done correctly, is becoming a bit generic/overdone (like the khan style), it would be unoriginal if I did it, and it seems like a chore to set up (I haven't written a computer programme in some time I might add). Analogue seems like the way to go but I don't know how tbqh.
As for content, I'm personally aiming to do instructional content but I'm thinking of also doing entertainment content on subjects like the history of mathematics (inspired by Mr Brady Haran (now OAM)'s most excellent and comfiest channel, Objectivity).
