On a provincial level there will some "cleansing" as people free from national laws seek to effect political ideologies at the point of a gun. These will be cataclysmic, but resolved quickly, usually with one group or the other being exterminated or exiled. While some harm will be done in the process the net effect will be to ensure homogeneity on a local scale, which will carry long term benefits. So while getting bad for a while the road to recovery will become more rapid than you might imagine.

I'm not even sure where do 7 and 14 week numbers come from, in my country most chickens are solid in 1.5-2 kg range and I know they get to live for about 20-25 days before they're slaughtered.
