It should bother any smart person when someone says "you cannot prove a universal negative" only to turn around and say "there is no evidence of X."

This statement is a contradiction. If you cannot prove a universal negative, then how can you say there is no evidence of X?

They should be saying "we have not YET found any evidence." Science should be open to evidence. The fact that most say "There is NO evidence" shows that they are very much biased.

I guess saying "no evidence" just makes makes them sound more certain and confident right? A persuasion similar to appeal to ridicule.

Do you guys get that this is literally algebra? This is the right way to solve the mystery: make an observation and when the numbers don't jive, figure out the math until it fits and then go try and observe that jiving math.

Hey, so some months back, all the headlines were about how long COVID leads to 8- to 10-point drops in IQ. I must admit, it terrified me, and I made the choice to get the vax. I was about to get the vax, but then when I was having an IQ discussion unrelated to COVID, some folks on the left told me that IQ is meaningless and has no connection to cognitive ability, which is strange because I didn't see that criticism when the headlines were running amok. What gives, /sci/?
