It seems like we are in a transition phase, where everyone is slowly but surely turning into automated humans. everyone is in a rush to do things, and they do these things as fast as possible because of all these schedules and time constraints imposed by society. and eventually this leads to people doing shit with no human thought to it, pretty much like an automated human.
People go to school and then end up in a 9-5 job where they do the same shit over and over, shit is lame. people everywhere in public are so glued to their phones and theres no interaction between strangers ever, and any interaction between strangers is so alarming to people, people are starting to forget how to socialise with strangers anymore. this that lame shit. i think with people becoming robots, people will eventually forget how to critically think and just start following orders and believing anything they read on the internet (which is largely influenced to sway for one agenda e.g: vaccines are safe, vaccinate or you are selfish evil person)
do you guys also think we are slowly being turned into robots? beep boop headass
I’m pretty sure anime has given me unrealistic expectations and stopped me from being attracted to real people. What studies have been done on this subject, and what should be done about it?
The FBI finally published their 2020 crime statistics yesterday, pic related is the homicide numbers.
Does science have a way to explain the discrepancies between the various groups?
>CO2 is a trace gas even coming out of smoke stacks, can't be efficiently extracted >it costs a lot more to extract CO2 from the atmosphere than it takes to extract fossil fuels >it is more energy intensive to extract CO2 from the atmosphere than to extract fossil fuels >natural carbon sinks are being destroyed faster than carbon capture technology can extract it >emissions still rising with no plans on stopping far outpacing atmospheric extraction
Is this just a giant green bubble waiting to burst or is there some technology that can actually remove CO2 from the atmosphere efficiently enough to where even makes sense to use it over just protecting forests, the ocean and planting trees?
Why me, /sci/? Why did I have to grow up loving computers? My bookshelves are full of computer and math books, I'm going to a sub10 university to study computers and math, I own multiple servers, I enjoy reading about computer history and talking about the different versions of Unix over the years, I find computer culture fun, and I hate almost every other cs major in my school because they're all treating it as a business major.
But that's not the worst part, the worst part is that I'm a cs-math major too. Why couldn't I be into solely math? Why couldnt I be solely into physics? Chemistry? Biology? Why did I not become a real scientist, /sci/? Why am I doomed to be a professionally trained hobbyist?
This thought has been running through my mind for 3 years now, and I hate that it's fucking true.
