When people talk about race realism on /sci/, why is the most common comparison always between Europeans and East-Asians? Isn't this highly disgenious? You are comparing the entirety of all Europeans agaisnt only a select group of Asia's peoples.
Shouldnt a more accurate comparison be between europeans and asians (all of them combined?)

I've seen attempts to cluster white Europeans, but they always seem strained and reaching, whereas there's a patently obvious difference between an East Asian and an Indian.

1. Understand the terms and concepts of:
Note-Types
Notes

Card-Types
and Cards

Lets not think of anki as an app right now, instead think of it as a flashcard made of paper.

*Note-type = paper you will write on.
*Note = information your write on the paper.

Within a Note-Type are what anki calls "Fields" and "Card-Types."

*Fields - Think of them as what you will use to separate ur written information, like the horizontal lines on Notebook paper.
*Card-types are where you will edit the look and feel of your Flashcard using HTML and CSS. but in actuality you only need to know one thing:
Put the name of your *Field in curly brackets{ } for it show up on the front or back of your flashcard.

Lastly, Cards. Cards are the Finished product and what will be generated once you've chosen your Note-type, inputted text, and edited the card-type.

how can one objectively tell signal apart from noise? everything seems to be some kind of arbitrary filtering based on preconceptions. what if the noise is the low frequency shit while the high frequency shit that looks like jitter is the real signal? what if the pattern is just an artifact of sampling bias? how can you really be sure what you call noise is noise and signal is signal?

Signal and Noise are very specific terms, and the Signal is determined by the circuit or system you're using. In other words, if you play feedback like Lou Reed's Metal Music Machine through your hi-fi - that's signal even though it's arguably "noise". If it fits through the frequency response curve of your system, then it's signal.

You might be interested in 'mutual information' where you measure the entropy of one random variable against another to suggest possible shared causation but to so so leads you down the rabbit hole into discussions about ontology and epistemology, or Pierce's Tridadic Signs.. not sure if it's /sci/ enough
Then there's also Douglas Hubbard's How to Measure anything... a measure is anything that influences a decision. If it has no impact on a decision, then it's not a measure. You may want to draw a connection between 'signal' and measure in a Decision Theory context provided by Hubbard.

You can't. If you have a signal at a certain frequency add a bunch of noise on a bunch of different frequencies there is no way to isolate the signal from the noise. You can pass it through an ideal bandpass filter for just that frequency but any noise added at your signals frequency would still be there. Ideally noise is not at at your signals frequencies you wsnt so you can remove by filtering it out but this isn't obviously true in the real world.
