Mechanical Engineering is the mothership, the source code, of engineering. There isn't a single aspect of modern life that doesn't require fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, or manufacturing. Mechanical engineering is in every aspect of your life from the moment you wake up and go to sleep.
You took a huge shit and flushed your toilet? Mechanical engineering. You eat a cold pizza from the fridge? Mechanical engineering. You drove to the gas tank and filled up your tank? Mechanical engineering.
