>Only 6% of the population is depressed
There's no way this is real, is there? I legitimately don't know a single person I wouldn't classify as having some level of depression in a modern society.
Does this mean instead "only 6% of people actually let themselves be officially diagnosed and registered by the government as depressive"?
is there a physics website that isn't shit? >physics stackexchange
shit interface, requires too much commitment and effort >physicsforums
living on life support >any reddit sub
less retards than here, but terrible interface, tree-style comments suck, reddit karma sucks, no proper tagging and search, no good subs have a large userbase
>2 years ago >get into hot sauce, get absurdly hot sauces >painful but enjoy the pain to a point >fast forward >life throws some shit my way >try eating hot sauce >entire body burns, tastes OK >stomach pain for next 48 hours >weird >try again >same result >same reaction from something just barely spicy
What happened? Change in my stress response or something?
When I was younger I did an IQ test because I had adhd, I scored very high on verbal IQ which was around 130 - 140 +, but I scored lower on being able to visualize things (I think visual spatial index) is what it is called. My dad earned 140k+ as a software engineer, most of my family does stem related work. I really want to know this because I failed at life, and if im above average intelligence then I will have some semblance of self-esteem.
As a white woman, I hate that STEM is a “white boys club.” I openly advocate for more scholarships for women and people of color, but it pains me to see racism is still part of office and laboratory culture.
How can white men improve to allow more women and POC equal opportunity in STEM? Do white men feel threatened by powerful women and especially women of color?
