I have a bone to pick with evolution. I'm not sure if we can conclude that humans evolved from animals. All science is cause and effect right? But we can't observed humans evolving from lower life forms. And then we have shit like the big bang which is widely accepted as fact as well. How TF do we know that? Every time I ask this question the people I ask always tell me that it's more likely than any other theory, but I have disregarded God, aliens, and lots of other shit for not being provable. It's like a cult to because even suggesting that it could be wrong attract spurges who want to argue online like flies. I mean, it's funny they act just like the religious zealots of the past, but now instead of a heretic I am branded a science heretic and called stupid and ignored. Why do I have to believe anything anyway? Isn't it enough to just learn how to manipulate the natural world through experimentation? Who cares why something is the way it is, why are humans so stuck on belief anyway? Like, they want to believe something about the natural world so god damn fucking badly that they do and then they hold on so tightly that they are willing to bully, harass, or even kill dissenters. I don't know, what do you guys think, how many of you actually believe in this shit and how many of you are content to just play the game of life?

Is being musically talented/adept a sign of intelligence? Is it in any way correlated with iq?

What do the vaccines actually do? Is it safe to assume that anyone catching or spreading Corona in Singapore is part of the 15% unvaxxed minority?

How easy is it to make your own small electrical engineering design company?
Recently the robotics club at my uni was offered $10,000 by a local company to design what appears to be a very simple pump control system for aquariums or something. This would be put into limited production and sold by the company.
I don't remember the specifics but I was surprised that overall design didn't seem much harder than a few of the design assignments I've done in uni. I could probably do the full design in 1 week if I was working full time on it.
Are there are lot of small businesses out there that need small scale electric system designs for whatever they're doing? Is it realistic to start your own design company tailored towards smaller business applications while the bigger players continue to focus on the multi-million dollar ones?

AFQT scores (iq test by the military) correlates .36-.37 with income for whites/blacks. How significant is this correlation? I spoke to a few friends that know about psychometrics they said it doesn't have much predictive power since the minimum g loading for each sub test on a Pro test is .7 and the g loading of the entire test is .9 ish. Thoughts?

That is, working full time as a software engineer (and benefiting from the income and job security) while still spending a lot if not most of your free time studying maths (through textbooks, online lectures, problems, etc.)

I'm asking this because I graduate from my BSc next June and I'm in the position to look for software engineering grad jobs, but my passion in life really is mathematics (as much as I see the beauty in programming - that is, actually interesting programming as opposed to libraries and frameworks).

I've come to the conclusion that I don't actually mind simply programming for a living, but I think it's very important for me to have the free time at the very least to work on mathematics, primarily for the sake of learning maths rather than discovering anything new. Just wondering if anyone here actually lives this kind of lifestyle.

The alternative is going on to study masters and phd in theoretical/mathematical CS, but even as a high performing student academic life from here on just seems less certain and more stressful compared to industry.

I'm doing Industrial Engineering, because it's not too hard and still has a lot of opportunities. My university also offers guaranteed internships for the IE program. It's a college in New York. I have a tested 105 IQ btw, and I got a B+ in calc 2 first try. I'm not too good at math. I'm a low IQ brainlet but still did well in Calc 2
