Bone forensics

No.13749662 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Any anons into bone forensics? For fossil hunters, they basically only have bits of bone to work with. How do they know that a pile of bones belongs to one species, two? How do they know which specific species? If I had a femur bone from a "dinosaur" how would I know if it's from a megalosauras, T rex, triceratops? How would I know that same femur belonged to a allegedly similar species triceratops skull 4000 miles away? I find it hard to believe that over millions of years , that scientists are smart enough to know how to puzzle together a species from different parts over different distances (because they dont find "all" the bones in a dig site). And what dinosaur bones werent discovered until the 90s? give me a break. Btw pic related is C6 of a wild boar. looks awfully similar to a human vertebrae dont it?

Often on this board I see anyone who shills for vaccine mandated depicted as a midwit basedboy, while animating that any high IQ anon could easily see that "the data just doesn't add up"

High IQ anons of /sci/, what exactly is the data that doesn't add up? Why/Why shouldn't vaccines be mandated?

Which math concept do you wish you were taught differently, and summarise how you want to be taught it.
I'll start, It took me ages to learn linear equations because I was taught to solve 3x + 5 = 8 by 'moving the opposite of + 5 over' or 'move the thing closest to the equals sign to the other side' and we had to memorise tables of doing +/- then x/divide then indices. It should have been taught more freely like the two sides of 3x+5 = 8 is like a balance scale and what you do to one side you do to the other to keep them balanced. From there teach them how by doing the certain operations (like -5) makes the 5 cancel out and creates opportunities to put x by itself.
