Just had the shit drilled out of my teeth. It was hell on earth.

Why don't dentists give you painkillers? Are they just sadistic monsters or is there some scientific reason?

If you had to create a "mathematical canon" of books for a person whose math skills have regressed to that of an 8th grader what books would it be comprised of?

Will the metal industry ever bounce back and challenge superior composite materials? Metallurgists probably aren't sitting on their hands, right?

How does something like this happen? Aren't engines supposed to easily evaluate 15+ moves ahead, so how is it allowed to walk right into a mate in 9?
>inb4 different engines don't do this
Irrelevant. This engine is still extremely strong.

Just finished my EE honors thesis. I liked doing the academic work but I hated the academic writing (although I'm apparently pretty good at it based on my grades). The lit review is really the biggest pain in the ass I have. I can write about my own work all day since I already have intuitive knowledge and don't need any sources, but needing to back up every fucking sentence I utter in the lit review drives me insane.
what do?
do I just become another cog in the industrial machine? Or is there a way to do academic work without needing to write a fucking 50,000 word lit review? Honestly I think this reference driven academic process is more detrimental than beneficial. It's just a giant fucking circlejerk of people referencing each other and contributing 5% original ideas.

Can numbers be thought as unary functions?
For example, can I write:
3*4=12
like this:
3(4)=12
?
Also, "0" would become a function that returns itself, "1" becomes a function that returns its argument unchanged, the concept of "multiplication" basically becomes useless. Would be awesome, what exactly could go wrong?
