How does this happen? Like is this seriously something that happens often in research? Just being completely wrong and that being okay and you staying employed?? If I do bad at my job, I get fired. How do researchers get away with just being completely incorrect? What do these guys even do???

I find that university, at least the one I'm going to, is a waste of time if the criteria considered is learning: most of my teachers are either decent or bad, teachers arent a must have, they're just one type of vehicle for information, in this case a bad one, on fact I find myself much more interested in reading a good book about the subject, like the ones I am assigned for my course.

Of course you can study from books and then do exams, you're not forced to go, but still I think that this learning system is bad.
