....Let me just say that I believe in both evolution and a higher power (God). The people that claim to KNOW that god does not exist are literally no different than the people they are mocking. From a purely scientific perspective humans know about about 1% about how the universe actually works. So anyone with a less that 1% knowledge of anything claiming that they KNOW anything about that things true nature is deluding themselves. Sure they can claim that they do not BELIEVE in a higher power, which is fair. But they don't KNOW anything about the true nature of the universe.

As for myself. Things just work out too perfectly for there not to be some kind of over arching design behind all of it. Things like dark energy, which keeps the universe from contracting and destroying itself are pretty fucking convenient. I'm not saying that dark energy is the hand of god. I'm saying that the fact that dark energy is even a thing is pretty fucking convenient for the survival of the universe. So to me it's like it was all designed to work out in the long run.

> "it turns out"

I have literally only ever heard tail-end high iq people say this phrase. If somebody says this, it's pretty much guaranteed that they are high iq.

Am i being stupid or have other people seen this phenomena too?

Tips for a guy struggling to learn/motivate himself

No.14110194 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Hello lads,
I recently returned to University after working for the last 7 year. (I'm 26 now)
I'm having issues motivating myself and starting to learn. I have my first exam in 10 days and just started 2-3 hours ago.

I always had troubles motivating myself in school, I never did the homework or learned for the tests and yet always passed them. I don't think I'm smart or have some high IQ, I just had an easier time picking up the fundamentals when I was younger.
My biggest problem is that I never learned to learn.
Does anyone here have/had the same problem? Any tips? I'm making some research about effective learning methods. But it all seems like pseudo science shit.

This is how I tried to learn:
- turned smartphone off
- created another user account on my computer and only used it for research
- ate well before (not too much)
- drinking water / tea
- no music or any source of sounds

And yet after every 5-15 minute some random shit pops up in my head. I think all the media consume fried my brain + my vivid fantasy = a loser realizing that he is struggling.

I know that started to late but I still believe that I will pass. I just want to make the next days as efficient as possible.
