Science Progress Report, Month

No.14131841 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Here's the major studies from last month.

How do you keep track of the latest developments if you do?
What do you think of current scientometrics?

If there was one code change you could make to improve scientific information on Wikipedia or Scholia what would it be?

For now the sources of the summary can be found as references at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_in_science

Please mark with an "X" all elements that are entirely useless for human life and/or modern civilization; then mark with an "/" all elements that are useful but not absolutely necessary (i.e.: that even modern civilization could do without).

How come we can't use a combination of flight + rockets to get into space?
I know its been tried, but I've never found the reason why this isn't viable. Obviously you can't fly all the way up, but it seems being able to fly up even a little bit would require less fuel than using a rocket to achieve the same height. Did this turn out to be false? Wouldn't the flying part also be reusable? Or was launching a rocket from a plane it too difficult?

I find it hard to picture anybody giving a single shit about cockroaches but the fact that this invention was banned speaks a lot about the state of our society right now

I guess this faunt guy was right, leftism is ruining scientific inventions for the cause of morals that cannot exist in nature
