Consciousness does not exist

No.14146436 ViewReplyOriginalReport
What if the idea of consciousness is a trick of the ego, and rather than something seeing the sight (for example), the sight is self-illuminating.

What if you aren't the thing seeing the world but you are the world that is "seen"? Or more like there is no such thing as a you at all, just a self-luminous mirage. Which is sort of a total medium ground between Idealism and Physicalism where there is only appearance, but that's full stop. Appearance/mirage without a substance that it appears to.

"Green" Energy?

No.14148861 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Just how "green" is green energy?

Say for example you build a wind turbine or solar panels. How much dirty energy is used to manufacture these, and how dirty will they be to be disposed of when its lifespan is over?

Is it a scam?

/sci/ what are your thoughts on the vaxx? I come from a fairly conservative family and my parents in particular are extremely skeptical of the vaxx. Now, don't get me wrong my parents aren't retarded Christian fundamentalists - they're regular every day people who aren't conspiracy theorists. But they cannot get their heads past the idea that the vaccines might actually be working.

That being said, I'm not vaccinated, mostly because there's a small part of me that's still skeptical. But I would say that largely the stats don't lie. People appear to not be getting as sick from COVID if they're vaccinated. And all of my friends/ loved ones who died of COVID were unvaxxed (and had prior health conditions / old age). So tell me /sci/, why are some seemingly regular every day people like my parents so skeptical of this? Sure, maybe there's a small percentage of people who got vaxxed who had unexpected harmful side effects. But that happens with any drug. When you read the health warning on BlueChew, side effects can include heart attack, stroke, and death. Surely, that doesn't mean when I pop a chew that I'm going to die - it just means that some people will.

So why are some people skeptical of the vaxx? Is it all just bullshit arguments for being anti-vaxx or is there actually some truth in what people like my parents are saying?

I have a genius idea...

Let's MANDATE a vaccine that is legally exempt from all liabilities.

Why should we mandate it? Because it makes you 0.01% less likely to die from a disease with a 99% survival rate.

Why is it exempt from liabilities? Because it was never approved for human use. It received special authorization after only a few months of development.

Does it help prevent the spread of the disease ? No.
