Are there any books on Quantum Mechanics that derive QM from the Feynman propagation?
My college uses the Feynman propagation as axiom of QM, but apparently that's something nobody does because every book does it differently.

For the people here that went on to get a PhD in mathematics:
What are the main arguments that made you decide to go for it? Did you already decide at the time that you want to pursue an academic position? What was your general experience/advice?
Feel free to be as detailed as you want. I'm about to finish my MSc and want to hear as many points of view as possible before deciding what to do further.
