Benefit of Insect Application to Wounds by Chimpanzees Explained
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2022/02/220207112645.htm
Regarding Journal Reference:
1. Alessandra Mascaro, Lara M. Southern, Tobias Deschner, Simone Pika. Application of insects to wounds of self and others by chimpanzees in the wild. Current Biology, 2022; 32 (3): R112 DOI: 10.1016/j.cub.2021.12.045
Author mentioned that it is not clear what benefits for wound care application of insects to wound may confer upon chimpanzees.
Please note that the chimpanzee mothers consistently dampened the insects with saliva before applying the insects to the wound. I propose that application of saliva breaks down tissues of the exoskeleton of the insects, leading to generation of lactic acid. The lactic acid accumulation stimulates the growth of LAB which in turn promotes innate immune response to the wound area.
Please see:

I salute Ms. Mascaro’s team for their discovery which proves that not all primate sociology experiments are a complete waste.

With Novikov's principle in mind, let's say I were to time travel backwards to try to save a decedent's life, whose body was found. Would the way to "save" their life be:
>approach the person
>bring the person to the present or tell them to go into hiding for many years to come
>get the person's DNA
>make a perfect clone with all the right features and age
>kill said clone with the cause of death listed by the original autopsy
>dump the body at the reported location
?
