I was having a conversation earlier with someone about cooking and they mentioned that things cook faster closer to the sea level? Wtf? I really do not understand adding/removing pressure to a substance and how that changes boiling points? Also does that make the actual substance boil longer or would it just make it take longer to get there? Am I retarded?

What is the most money that you'd be willing to pay to enter the game in the St. Petersburg Paradox? There are an infinite number of possible outcomes, each prize increasing as 2^n dollars while the corresponding probability of that outcome diminishes as the reciprocal 1/2^n.

Uploaded-Consciousness Society

No.14255111 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I want to know you anons' thoughts on how(/if?) culture would evolve if lots of people uploaded/transitioned their minds to the internet, in some future where this is possible. Ignore the issue of whether you can actually put your consciousness in a computer, please, assume it's possible and completely safe ITT.

How would people behave differently in the wired? Would we all just artificially overflow our pleasure senses indefinitely? Would we mindmerge into human-instrumentality collective consciousnesses? Would we primarily spend time in constructed virtual 'spaces', or would it be more abstract? Would there be meaning in being an individual, if we all run like programs? Would we serialize ourselves? What would we seek out in our lives? Would we run HappyLife.exe and wipe our memories?

If there's still a culture, what would it look like? How would it evolve from current internet culture, and how would it reflect the above questions? If not everybody's abandoned meatspace, how would it affect irl society? What would normies think about wired people?

I wanna explore all the possibilities. What are your thoughts and ideas?

How did a huge genetic defect that naturally signifies unhealthiness like male pattern baldness get passed on evolutionarily? Did stone age women really find bald guys attractive?
Is it possible that a lot of males who would eventually lose their hair simply died and passed on their genes before the hair loss kicked in?

>science: watch your BMI
>science: *forgets to tell you BMI was invented in 1850 to suppress Black folks https://lulz.com/bmi-outdated-concept-from-1850s/

How come anything "science" gets found out as racist in the end? How come anything science tells me is good it's going to tell me gives me cancer tomorrow?

How come anything science tells me is bad (eg. eggs) is going to be discovered to be good tomorrow?

How come science said the possibility of covid-19 originating from the covid-19 research lab in wuhan is so low that people who talk about it must be censored globally by all tech companies?

Science is shit. Science is oppression. Adopt a scientist and put them down - TODAY!
