>professor keeps telling us to not memorise the subject for the test but understand it instead
>I ask him what he means by understand
>he says if we understand we can explain it to someone else

What did he mean by this? How do I know how to eplxain something to someone without understanding it? He can't explain understanding very well to me.

Let's imagine a totally not real hypothetical situation. You want to publish your work to a conference and you slave away getting that shit written. Then all of a sudden, your supervisor insists you drop the conference and submit to some shit journal.

What do?
Is it possible to go rogue and just submit that shit?
Also fuck academia

Statistics

No.14272130 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Which books (or any other source of information for that matter) should I read to get a solid foundation in statistics?
PS. Such foundation would be the means to the end of applying this knowledge to quantitative finances and econometrics

Is skipping breakfast good or not?

No.14270324 ViewReplyOriginalReport
>always thought it's good because it's intermittent fasting
>a lot of times you aren't even hungry in the morning and just eat because it's what you do
>the 3-meal per day thing was made up and isn't really necessary
>old cultures eat whenever they're hungry, not 3 meals per day

Anyway I've been skipping breakfast lately and feeling better. It always helps my focus and I can be more productive in the morning. But I'm seeing things like:

>makes your immunity go down.
I thought fasting did the opposite and helped improve immunity because it gives your body time to heal itself?
>messes with blood sugar
>increased risk for heart disease and diabetes
Literally how? I thought it helped reverse diabetes and stabilize blood sugar. etc.

Wtf is going on. Here is the link where I read some of this. I've read it on other places too.

Feeling sick when not studying

No.14272003 ViewReplyOriginalReport
What the fuck is the cause?
Whenever I stop studying for a longer period of time, I start to have stomach pain. I shit 3 times a day and my poop is yellow instead of brown (I have Gilbert's Syndrome so maybe my bilirubin levels go through the roof?). Am I fucking addicted to studying to such an extent that the moment I take my off off this I remind myself that I live in a material, physical world indifferent to the existence or non-existence of humans and not discernable to the senseless will to live?
I am not joking. How the fuck do I deal with this issue? I also begin to consume honey outside of adding it to my breakfast. I just fucking open the jar and eat it straight out. Has math made me mentally ill?

How come nobody ever believes me no matter how much I prove I can see the future? I literally said verbatim that Russia would start a war. And I said it in September 2020 and you all treat me like dirt and pretend it was just a coincidence when it's not. How many more dozens of times do I need to prove my self.

This is my first time that I clicked on these kind of threads >>14263789 . I am not a scientist, just some random ordinary anon... the thing is that I've never saw a proper suggestions anywhere, not even in the archives of /sci/.

The simplistic solution for a climate change is to completely reset the calendar and to change period of 1 year (365 days) into a 360 days. Am not sure if this suggestion makes sense, but from my perspective, the perfect circle is measured in 360º and I am pretty sure that one year should be also a 360 for a perfect measurement of our time.

Why is no one talking about the calendar reset and could you, more knowledgeable anons, debate about this suggestion since I am gathering free knowledge from this board?

Thank you very much.
