Plain white printer paper or wide ruled notebooks. My handwriting is getting worse and worse over time, and it's hard to write in college ruled notebooks. I get pretty severe pain in my wrist, specifically on my right hand, which sucks, because of course I'm right handed. Funnily enough, it doesn't happen at all in my left hand.

What is more important than the paper to me is my pencil. I need those large pencils that kinder-gardeners use. They're easier to hold and don't hurt my wrists quite as much, although they're a bit annoying too.

Get a large fountain pen. I like them because I get hand cramps and not having to press down to write helps a lot.

Scrap paper. Any piece of paper you can get your hands on for cheap or for free. It is the act of writing on paper as an extension of your mind's organization of the topic at the time of learning that is important, rather than the quality of the notes themselves. I bet you any of these notebook users rarely look back at their notes, and if they do, re-reading old notes probably adds very little to the development of understanding.

I thought I had it figured out but now I'm fucking confused. Apparently psychopathy and sociopathy are things separate from antisocial personality disorder, and apparently you need to be committing crimes to be diagnosed with aspd.

Can some psyfag clarify this to me? Or can point me in the right direction to understanding these three terms?

I do some work involving flux balance analysis that requires CPLEX or Gurobi. Funny enough, both of those optimizers were written by the same dude - Rob Bixby. Dude sold CPLEX to IBM for a pile of cash and then turned around and wrote gurobi and competed with himself. What a stud.

The nuts and bolts of linear programming are currently beyond me mathematically, but I'll make some time for it after I finish my dissertation.

Maybe I've been using it too long, but if you're making just a basic document for example TeX is very fast for me. Sure it's not as fast as having to type no commands, but it's not like it takes hours to write a letter. The more complex the document the more time it takes, but also the more important it is to have the control TeX gives you.

Write in markdown use a latex template. Asciidoc is better but the integration with latex isn't as good as with md. Org mode if you like emacs.
