what are some high paying (300k+ or so) jobs for maths majors?
im 18 in highschool year 12. my dreams of medicine undergrad were snuffed by a mediocre UCAT so i think ill do maths CS or become a pilot now.
so what are some good maths/CS related jobs?
also is being a pilot a good idea because i think id be fine with that too if its 250k+ or so.

Just do CS only.And start leetcoding.Another anon told you to work in finance.I would not recommend it.Very few people make those outrageous salary and they usually work very hard and have to study at really good unis.Tech is far more driven by merit.Even no name college kids make it to the best companies.Also,the workload is lower than in finance.You might find the work a bit more meaningful too.

Some components of flue gas can be quantified by gravimetrics.

To quantify CO2 you can bubble a determined volume of gas through a tube/pipe filled with Ba(OH)2-solution, filter the percipitate and heat it in a crucible to glowing red.
The Bariumcarbonate is weighed out and multiplied with 0.2230. You will now have a mass concentration. Given the density of gas you will be able to calculate a volumetric percentage.

To measure H2O content, you could run a defined volume of gas through a column (quite long and filled to the brim) of dry Na2SO4 or molecular sieve 3A (latter would absorb NH3 as well). Weigh the bulk before and after and calculate the water content by subtraction.

There will be a substantial margin of error though you might need to repeat these experiments a view times and calculate averages.

simple chemistry anon, the methane has to react with oxygen in order to burn. You can simply use the average atomospheric content of oxygen alone with assuming burning at stoich.

If you actually want to know, I think the easiest way is to retrofit an automotive wideband o2 sensor into the flue, and using a good meter or oscope to pull the readings straight off the sensor. With calibration you'd easily be able to identify the o2 content of the air around you, as well as the actual methane content of your natural gas supply.
