overated cringe equations

No.13579834 ViewReplyOriginalReport
According to https://www.livescience.com/51399-eulers-identity.html

"Euler's identity is often cited as an example of deepmathematical beauty. The identity also links five fundamental mathematical constants. "

>The number 0.

Not a number. Could be considered a representation of infinity.

>The number 1.

A number but there are arguments it dosent have to be one.

>The number ? (? = 3.141...).

Pi is not a number. But could be thought as a representation of infinity.

>The number e (e = 2.718...)

Again, "e" is not a number. Could be a representation of infinity.

>The number i.

'i' is not a number. Could be seen as a representation of infinity.

All this equation is saying is that infinity to the power of infinity plus infinity equals infinity. Fuck this brainlet shit

Jobs thread? Jobs thread

No.13584451 ViewReplyOriginalReport
As an academic, I look for jobs anywhere in (nice parts of) the world as long as it's tenure track (because fuck the academic underclass REEEEEEEE).

My wife is fairly red pilled, as am I from being in an industry where you quickly learn everyone is dishonest, everyone is out to harm you for their benefit, and very good people exist (and that's only because you're useful to them). Together, we have citizenships of the US, Canada, Japan, and Taiwan.

Where can I go to still have a comfortable life (e.g. stop working once tenured) and not be in a shithole police state? I once thought of moving to the middle of nowhere at a state school in a red state is the answer, but even that's probably not enough these days...

Was there ever a "sneed's questions thread formerly chuck's"?

>what is /sqt/ for?
Questions regarding math and science.
>where do I go for advice?
>>>/sci/scg
>where do I go for other questions and requests?
>>>/wsr/ >>>/g/sqt >>>/diy/sqt etc.
>how do I post math symbols (Latex)?

>a plain google search didn't return anything, is there anything else I should try before asking the question here?
https://scholar.google.com/
>where can I look up if the question has already been asked here?

General advice for asking questions here:
>attach an image (animal images are best. Grab them from >>>/an/)
>avoid replying to yourself
>ask anonymously
>remember to check the Latex with the Tex button on the posting box
>if someone replies to your question with a shitpost, ignore it
>avoid arguing with Yukarifag
>do not tell us you came from whatever the fuck board, /pol/ in particular
>do not mention how [other place] didn't answer your question so you're reposting it here
>if you need to ask for clarification fifteen times in a row, try to make the sequence easy to read through
>I'm not reading your handwriting
>If it ain't english I can't speak it

i havent posted here in a couple of years so this meme may be outdated, but back in the day there was the saying of math degree equals 300k$ a year.

what in the fuck can you do as a certified mathematician with that. the only field that is even somewhat applicable is finance in which nowadays a 1 hour course on technical analysis and time series decomposition is enough to turn any smart kid into a savvy investor. also with all the shit and the manipulation happening in all the markets muh calculus methods are downright useless. theres also computer science but code monkeying is beneath a true wizard.

Right wingers believe conspiracies, and lefties don't. Why? Is the right less gullible? But then again they're more religious. That sounds gullible too. Are they more emotional? No because antifa are a bunch of babies. HOW CAN I MAKE SENSE OF THIS?

I ask chall cuz you guys are supposed to be smart.
