If there's an afterdeath state where your thoughts or actions determine where you go from there, you can bet it'll be pretty disorienting and unlucid, so kinda like a dream. The best way to practice for that is learning how to become lucid in the closest state we have access to, which is dreams. The practice also makes life better in the meantime, so it's a win-win and the obvious way to handle it.

For what it’s worth, I try to be a good person. Not like trying to manipulate the world for political idealism, but just not giving the humans in my periphery too much shit if I can help it. I also pursue what I want to do in life and what feels fulfilling rather than what I feel obliged to do, but still trying to be responsible and career driven.

If post-death is just an empty void, no skin off my back. If there really is some kind of deity, creator, or afterlife, I would at least be able to make some compelling argument for my sanctity before I’m sent to hell. And if time really is just some big loop, then at least I am the human that I want to be over and over again.
