To a large extent, I don't want to think about these issues, and it would be better if I could just spend my time thinking about mathematics and biology and philosophy. Those are more important, and they are certainly far more important the the transitory concerns of contemporary economics and politics. But unfortunately, I am sometimes prone to obsessing over politics and current event. In fact, our entire society is too concerned about politics and economies, and we would probably be better of both psychologically and ironically even financially, if we actually spent less time worrying about politics and economics, and spent more time and effort on things that actually improve human life and culture, e.g. science, math, philosophy, knowledge in general, sports, art, outdoors, etc.
