>The distance between the Sun and Earth is what causes seasons
What are some other 'scientific' facts you've learned in elementary school that are now false?

>only way forward for me is a PhD (don't ask)
>not interested in the field I have a master's in
What the fuck do I do now? Every PhD position I've looked at requires skills that you develop while doing a master's in that specific field. A second master's is out of the option because of money reasons.

Is honours mathematics at McGill rather than at UOttawa worth the extra money for residence? I wouldn't have to move out if I went to UOttawa, but their standards for admission are a lot lower (they accept people with low80s compared to high 80s) so I'm wondering if anyone knows if going to UOttawa instead would compromise my education, chances of further studies, or employment opportunities. I am a full-on math autist and I want to maximize my chances of becoming a mathematician or at least having a good job out of stuff that involves math.

A true mathematician makes his own discoveries, you fuck. A slightly better university will not make or break your odds of such a thing if you are Einstein tier. If you aren't Einstein tier you are training to be a cog in the machine and there is yet another reason the extra cash is not worthwhile. Use your current math understanding to work out the extra cost and the probability of a different university granting you a career with high enough pay to make up the difference. Really though I'm semi talking BS.

I see a lot of people assuming that the spike protein produced by the vaccine is is exactly the same as the spike protein of the virus itself, and then assess the vaccine's dangers from research on the virus spike. But shouldn't the vaccine spike be modified so that it's incapable of causing damage and can't bind to anything? Else it just sounds like the COVID vaccines actually give you COVID.

Been planning on going to AP for the past few years since I have great interest and passion in it, but i heard most AP grads go into data science after graduation.
Should I just do a CompSci degree from the start?
Or is doing small projects and self learning/bootcamps/Compsci minor while doing an AP major good enough?
I also heard a physics major has more compsci skills but I have more interest in the specific AstroP than general physics
sorry for bad image I made this post in a rush and not many other images on this new pc
