For my dad and I medication helps greatly, but really emotion regulation is the only ADHD thing it treats while the other stuff is mostly neurological.
My dad has blood pressure issues which doctors have not been able to identify after several tests, I have similar issues but doctors don't really even care because the issues haven't gotten as bad as my dad's yet(I say yet because his issues only became serious once he reached an older age). My dad and I both also have weird eye pain which the meds help with while eyedrops so nothing. My sister and I both have connective tissue disorders but she doesn't have the other stuff like my dad and I do so she doesn't even feel like the meds work for her.
The ignorance of doctors is really quite annoying, it seems like for many of them all the memorization in med school ruined their critical thinking skills.
I can't imagine all the shit that has been missed because some dumbass doctor attempted their usual way of conveniently grouping a patient's symptoms into one of the 10,000 medical conditions they've memorized, couldn't fit it into anything and thus expertly conclude that the patient is completely fine
