What are factors/theories for its causation?
I used to have really bad facial dysmorphia as a teen but it's mostly gone over the past year. It wasn't just my face it was the faces of others, especially if I was close to them, their facial attractiveness would really shift from day to day/second to second. It was very odd.

For centuries nothing really change as far as humanity's advancements technologically speaking. And then the 1800s something changed, exponentially humans went from buggies and slave labor to machines, mass production, sustainable farms, flight, long distance communication, even more efficient mass production and cultivation, nuclear weapons/power, space travel, television etc. And then it all stopped. Why is this? Why has nothing advanced in the last 20 or so years? Things that already existed have gotten better but nothing has really significantly changed and nothing new has come about since the year 2000. It doesn't make any sense.
