Programming and Software Development

No.13508549 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I am 20 year old, and I am not sure if there is future in software development. Is it a wise choice that I pursue a career in Computer science/Software engineering?

I am quite disillusioned if there is actually a point to learn programming and get better at it in 2021.

If yes then how should I proceed? I am a beginner as far as programming is considered, I only know some basic level of programming and text editing (HTML) I did in school. I have studied quite a lot of mathematics though (sets, Logic, proofs, combinatorics etc) and I am currently thinking to pursue a BS in Math & CS.

How should I start with programming basics? What language should I learn and what are the best resources (books, lectures etc) ?

I did check out a bunch of programming lectures online (on edx etc), read a bunch of articles etc and can't figure out where to start. One thing I understood that I will need a a lot of prolonged practice.

After about 6 months of putting it off i've finally taking the vaccine. I took the moderna one. I figured if the delta variant is exploding and people like bill gates are engineering society to create new variants, it's better to just get it today and not try to deal with the bullshit later.

What is even stopping an event in which the cap rock above an underwater oil source cracks due to natural causes and starts leaking into the ocean?

It took us 87 days to fix the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, an accident caused by man. What would we even do if a medium-large underwater oil source thousands of meters beneath the surface starts leaking?

sorry if retard
