Why does everyone pretend that voting matters? It scientifically and mathematically doesn't. The probability that your vote will change the outcome of an election when there are millions of people voting is astronomically low. You might as well go play the lottery, perhaps you'd even get a better chance of getting back your time's worth.
I don't understand why everyone is so irrational when it comes to voting. I don't vote, and not because I don't believe in the political process, or am blackpilled or anything like that. I don't vote because it doesn't make any sense to vote and is a waste of time.
Whenever I bring this up to the ant NPC voters the just brush it off and completely ignore all my points.

1$ PCs for cluster ML good idea?

No.13510917 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I have an opportunity TODAY to buy old school computers in bulk for 1$ Each. As a machine learning student with decent experience would it be advisable to buy like 10-20 machines and make a cluster?

Probably Core 2 Duo or Penguin idk. Bit bulky for a cluster but learning is learning. Is this sort of task good for a cluster? Machine learning, that is.

I don’t want to waste my time if this won’t be useful for my future career/research. Clusters seem fun but there’s only so much time I have to learn stuff before I die.

Thought Experiment

suppose we could build a large plane out of gauge blocks, say 40000km2 or whatever was needed.
suppose we could have it in space, somewhere in the vicinity of the earths magneti--i mean gravitational pull.
how big would it have to be before spacetime would cause the surface to be curved?
assume we could have spheres place about the surface, would they roll towards the earth?
would the gauge blocks seperate?
