What is the evolutionary purpose of paraphilia? Or rather, how does it come about so frequently in people? Take something like vore or other fatal fetishes, the proclivity to mainly be attracted to such a fantasy rather than the opportunity of sex should surely make fetishes very rare in the gene pool.

so you are at the train station and u see this man and he's playing head or tail with a coin... then you get interested and start watching him. he puts the coin back in the pocket and repeat 200 times randomly drawing a different coin from pocket each time. you notice 4 different kinds of coins. then the man comes to u and asks "how many coins do u think i have in the pocket and which is the probability of tail of each different kind of coin? if you answer correctly you'll win 10k$" ... so, what does /sci/ reply?

Numerical Bases

No.13523095 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Let's say you have a positive integer expressed in a positive integer base . You desire to test if , another positive integer, divides . Well, if divides , then then, if the number, expressed in base has a last digit which is divisible by c (mod c = 0), then divides .

How is this useful? Dunno. It can be used for super large numbers, and I think it can also be used recursively, though. Maybe it's trivial to you, but just thought it would be fun to share. People rarely ever count in other bases, and I feel there's untapped potential for mathematics there.
