I teach an introductory course in physics and math at the local community college.
Currently there are 0 people signed up for my course.
Another guy is teaching astronomy there, and his course is full of people. There are close to 30 people signed up.

This triggers me. Can you explain this horrible ratio? I have no experience in stargazing but I can't imagine stars being a concept that's completely isolated from natural sciences.
