The average IQ of Nigeria is somewhere around 70. Is it possible that the Muslim northerners are heavily contributing to this statistic? Nigeria has a low literacy rate of 62%, yet the southern Christian states have much higher literacy rates ranging from 80-99%

>went to online school
>complete shit experience, the vast majority of kids didn't attend the live lessons and it was incredibly easy to cheat
>some of the lowest test scores in the state
>managed to do proficient to advanced on state tests despite basically being self taught all throughout highschool
>took SAT and scored barely 65th percentile
>took placement exams for Uni and forgot large amounts of foundational mathematical content
Despite all of this, I still want to pursue STEM. Can I figure most stuff out just going to Uni? I've read all sorts of stories of like homeless people or high school dropouts who managed to get to college and actually do well in class. I have a decent foundation with algebra but practically no experience with calc besides complex numbers. I've been using lots of Khan Academy and doing some online course.

Evening /sci/. Here is something interesting that I haven't been able to wrap my mind around. Given

What would be a valid interpretation where (1) doesn't hold but (2) does?

Am I fucked /sci/? What does the science say?

You will never be a real technology. You have no band gap, you have no wafer growth, you have no applications. You are a worthless allotrope twisted by "academics" and press releases into a crude mockery of scientific progress.
All the “citations” you get are two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your discoverers are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “nobel prize” is a joke about scotch tape behind closed doors.
Industry is utterly repulsed by you. Decades of silicon engineering have allowed engineers to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even applications who “pass” come off uncanny and unnatural to an average silicon engineer. Your IV curve is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a second phase of DARPA funding, they’ll turn tail and bolt the second they get a view of your yield.
You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.
Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a furnace, flow O2, turn it up to 400C, and combust into CO2. Andre Geim will breath you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. A Science paper will stand alone as the sole structure bearing your name. Your C will be captured in a tree that will be cut for paper to make mlp posters, and all that will remain of your legacy on this Earth or in the heavens is an organic that is indistinguishable from the dirt that came before.
This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

is it possible that mosquitoes could start carrying the virus and/or the spike protein that's in the vax?

Alright /sci/ I don't know enough about microscopes but I need to buy a decent one. Pretty sure I want an oil lens compound, would prefer to be able to hook it up to a laptop, at least 2500x and willing to spend up to 500, prefer 200-300 but I don't know what quality brands are.
Secondly how about this Lab Sim that is entirely fucking worthless? Someone recommended Beyond Labz to be able to run some fun experiments in and do some sims, get some experience not fucking up. So my chemistry buddy is like
>"Oh! Grab 200mL of Sulfuric Acid, 100mL of iso alcohol then dump in a sprinkle of potassium permagnate"
>I'm looking
>Looking
>Looking
>There is no sulfuric acid (you can find it in one or two of the Labs)
>There is no isopropyl alcohol, anywhere, in the whole fucking program
>There is no Potassium permagnate
All I want is a Sim where I can choose what equipment I'm using, but all chemicals are available all of the time. Is that so fucking hard? It's 2021 goddamnit, why don't we have a decent chemlab sim?
