Now I am not saying she is not a scientist, I am not saying she is doesn't deserve to be there.. What I can bring to the table is the truth of the matter.

I am from South Africa and my fiancé is one of the smartest Nano-Chemists our country has ever produced(non-PHD).. She recently applied for a program that extends her study-career in Germany.. Of the 15 chosen for this oppertunity only 4 had passed their previous year and not 1 made it with a distinction.. However, the other 11 failed with averages below 33%(because that is the passing rate for any educational institution within our country).

Furthermore, none of these 15 participants are of any other racial criteria other than black.. Now this may sound like a rant, but in reality it's a wake-up call to the rest of the fucking world.. This is happening in the US as we speak..

how do i go about calculating the probability that with some bernoulli trials an event will happen exactly at n number of events? like you have 10 coin flips. what is the probability that on the 5th coin flip it is tails? is it still 1/2? i know how to calculate it happening exactly n times but what about it happening on the nth time regardless of other outcomes?
