I've been reading articles on heterogenous catalysis, and I'm looking for data on absorption and adsorption energies on various metallic surfaces of organic molecules. However, somehow I'm getting the impression that in many cases researchers use the terms adsorption and absorption interchangeably. But these are two completely different phenomena. Do they really do this or am I getting confused? I'm particularly look for absorption energies on metallic surfaces, most refer to them as adsorption but if you look at the molecules themselves it looks morel ike they are absorbed.
Can somebody help a retard out?
Thanks

This board is a waste of time. All passive internet activities where you keep refreshing to see if there's any new content, passively consume it and forget it in an hour is a waste of time. Not just a waste of time, but a cancer of the soul. So are video games. This is just not good for me. I'll limit such activity to math overflow/SE and some blogs I like.
If you feel similarly, I hope this encourages you to do the same. Farewell.
