It is different!
If you can modify/vary the conductivity of the plates you can extract energy from the vacuum.
One idea would be standing waves in a Plasma or something. Conductivity of plasma is highly variable.

I've always appreciated them (except the post-modernist variants) and I relate more to art folks compared to tech bros. Went to STEM mostly for the job prospects in order to have something to finance music related endeavours. Too bad I'm giving less and less of a fuck about music making (sucks being more and more dead inside and having less and less energy).

Psychology has almost nothing to do with the brain or biology and focuses instead on theories of how "the mind" works.
Neurology is the real stuff like Parkinson's disease or epilepsy.
