>>13649001>Some would consider moving goalposts as arguing in bad faith>evolution is a myth>to>well maybe microevolution exists BUT MACROEVOLUTION DEFINITELY IS A MYTHWhat on earth are you talking about my very first post in this thread I was exclusively referring to macroevolution as the myth, verbatim. Read it right here
>>13642106At no other point did I imply microevolution is a myth.
>First of all, you are mistaken that macroevolution I haven't even remotely discussed macro evolution once. I just said it's a myth, that is it. You must think you're responding to someone else.
Are you even the moron above I've been discussing Coelacanth with? You don't seem like it.
>There's no reason one specie should outcompete the other to extinction.Of course there is. If an invasive species is introduced to the same environment it frequently will force other populations into extinction. The macro evolution myth explanation is that the less fit species usually adapts/evolves to fill another niche before it goes extinct.
>Sharks and coel exist in one of the most resource-rich environments on Earth. In the ocean, they just have to swim with their mouth open and they feed.If you're going to make gross oversimplifications than I can too...The shark "opens its mouth and feeds" before coelcanth can get to the food.
Moving past the gross oversimplifications, no, they can't just swim around and open their mouths. They hunt all day for food and if they are in the same area shark will probably get the meal first.
>lions and hyenas. How come? Maybe because there's prey and living space enough for both.Their niches overlap somewhat, but not enough for one or the other to go extinct or be forced into another niche. Pic related
WIth coel. and sharks, their niches overlap almost entirely, and the coel. is in fact almost extinct today because sharks are superior. It is critically endangered and the evidence suggests it's been this way before modern commercial fishing.
