consciousness

No.13650768 ViewReplyOriginalReport
If lets say it was possible to transfer the entire brain from a person to another body in a surgical procedure.

would that person still be himself in terms of consciousness. or would he have the consciousness of the original body's owner with the memories of the brain donor thinking he is the brain donor.

or would he retain his consciousness

This is how human feet should look like in 2021. What is the evolutionary purpose of having useless feet you can't control with small toes?

With our intelect and our hands, plus feet like those, humans would truly be the apex predator

Is a nature subscription worth 200$/year?

No.13642354 ViewReplyOriginalReport
200$ seems pretty steep but there are a few fields that I like to keep tabs on and I hate running into a paywall. If I just get this one subscription will I be able to stay pretty much on top of scientific developments? Or will I need to buy more?

On a semi-related note, is it pozzed? I ask because I'm subscribed to a tech newsletter thing that comes in my inbox like once a week, and I find that maybe 1/3rd of the time there's an article about how white men are just the worst, and it puts me in a bad mood. Ya I know, I'm a triggered snowflake or whatever, but I'd be actually mad if I was paying 200$ to have that propaganda stuffed down my throat. I guess what I'm asking is, is it science? or ifuckinglovescience?

pic related is the main article on their website at the moment, which is not a great sign. But I assume it's just in the news section and not in the actual journal.
