Because not only is he adorable, but he is so pure, so kind. He never has ill will towards anyone, unless they go out of their way to hurt people he loves. Even after the mogami arc, he was so willing to forgive, after all the torment he went through for an entire half-year. He also works so hard to improve himself and help others every day.

Honestly, I'm not sure if there was a definitive moment. Maybe when he met Teru?
