I really want a keyring or strap of some kind. Figures and statues are well and good but they collect dust and get scraped easily in an environment you don't have complete control over. I used to have my heart set on a plush of some kind but human plushes always look bad and being the sole producer of husbando dog doesn't make it feel all that agreed upon and official. It's silly but I have a ferret teddy that sort of represents him, though it was commissioned on a total whim.

He was what drew me to his series, the other lead I hated as a kid, so he was always my type. I think there was a gap between starting it and dragging him into everything I got into around/after it, and it wasn't until around 2011 when waifu threads were really picking up that I made the connection with the term. I remember thinking waifu shit was delusional cult behaviour at some point (there's a lot still out there), but when I considered who was mine there wasn't any questioning or thinking about it, he came to mind immediately. I mean, he never really left, so it was just a matter of acknowledging it.

I go by the year things began, when I collected images and wrote things like an idiot all over the place. It inflates the number by a good 5-6 years, but in a way I think being dense and having only vague timelines for progression is the most natural. We don't have solid dates like cinema tickets, restaurant bookings, or proposal photos. The best we can use is timestamps on files and posts. Mine is March 2006, so thirteen years.

It's something you don't put conscious thought towards when doing it. In dreams you believe that person to be real, as 3D as anything else, but your brain produces such vague intangible detail that they register as the same recognisable 2D form. It's about the same logic, daydreaming that he's down the street waiting, or following alongside a vehicle. When I think about it, both in daydreams and involuntary dreams there's something obscuring him. I had a story some years back where I eventually realised a random side character he kept talking to was probably a self insert, it didn't feel like me, but I was more comfortable making that character get along with him because I wasn't trying to make them me. I tried to design my drawfag persona after that character, but it felt like making a character rather than being my voice so it didn't serve the intended purpose. It's all a big mess really.

Because it's the most embarrassingly DA-tier chuuni thing. I like dropping him into other series and seeing how he'd exist and interact with it, but not me. The aforementioned story was like a RPG quest so we had a party from his universe, plus extras. I was to the side, separated.

I don't know if he has what would count as aspirations. Obviously he wants people to have their happy endings, and he hates when someone suffers whether he can help or not, but because of lacking self confidence he wouldn't aspire to help everyone or anyone, or to change the system to ensure the least suffering. He promises to apprehend a criminal some day, but given various opportunities he struggles with himself to act on that as forcefully as he could. He's paradoxically popular as the main character of a less remembered series, the fanbase is small but they all have their hands on him in some way. There's a lot of chatter calling him their wife or son, child, baby, etc. People commission art and get birthday presents of related media and make enthusiastic posts about how much it means to them because he is so special and they love him. It's not the same thing though. These people come and go, pick and choose. A few times I've had someone reply going 'he's my husbando too!' but they vanish after that, won't even talk about the series with me.

To be frank I'm lonely. I want to talk about his series, and there are times when people write like they really get him. Most of the time though, it feels embarrassingly off. And when I talk to them: no reply.

Sorry guys, count me out on the entire fan thing? It would be wrong and pompous as fuck to impose a no shipping in my presence rule on them in their space, so the only answer is to never enter their space.

People have mentioned the obvious on sensitive topics, but in some cases it can be just about anything. When I was in a bad way I took everything as a reference to him hurting, and I was baffled how people did it so frequently when they didn't know him. That's not necessarily your fault.

The safe option is to pose things as open questions and let them elaborate their opinion at maximum autism levels. Questions can let you gauge what their views are before asserting your own, but also, people just like being invited to talk. If however they turn hostile with you over what you asked being an offence in itself then there's probably no helping it and they weren't really up for that discussion. Just be sensible and duck out.

Canon related is important to me, so if it depicts something canon about him then I'll take it, but I've been conditioned to guard it from public view. Any other character it'd be a cool way to share what they're like, but with husbando it's suddenly private. His fans have always gone too far with "angst", and the gore I've seen didn't fit the examples given in canon well. There wasn't a narrative to them and it became overly goofy and bizarre. This logic is retarded. Just because it's a common theme in a setting doesn't mean a visual representation of suffering can't be upsetting, whether it's well executed or not. For a time I was convinced it was all the fanart he ever got, and there's recurring motifs on most fansites about him to ram it home, all of them in poor taste. Knowing his series is about death and that he died prior to the start doesn't exempt him from empathy.
