>>92362694Eh, pretty easy to figure out.
1. Jack's got to get back
2. Jack refused to kill Ashi, so she can't die
3. All the time portals are truly gone, destruction of the Guardian's one is proof of that
4. The only source of time portals now is Aku himself
5. Ashi has been shown to literally be part Aku, and he has control over her
6. Ashi must have an important role, as a primary character, and she's shown her inability to completely strip Aku's control.
7. The only way Ashi can now help Jack, is by joining with and interfering with Aku
8. The most complete way to do this, that would wrap up the entire series is to create a portal
Jack going back to the past, to rewrite history so Ashi was never born is suitably bitter-sweet for an ending, leaving him with only memories of her and everyone else, but a new, brighter future.
Either that or they just find some way to kill Aku in present, and save the future, but not the past. With Jack realising that what's done is done, and he can't save the past.
