I thought about this recently, and I really think this season would have done better as something else entirely, even with 10 episodes. Hear me out.
>Have Jack and Ashi forced to team up in like, episode 2. Get it done REALLY early, but don't have them grow on each other in the span of one episode.
>Force them to travel together. Ashi still wants to kill Jack but she has a will to live and needs him to survive.
>Then, put them through like six episodes of regular Samurai Jack adventures. Basically one-off stuff, like the old style. Give each episode its own visual and narrative style.
>Have their relationship develop naturally instead of just "muh ladybug, I guess I'm not evil anymore."
>You can still have the plotpoint about Ashi meeting people Jack has helped, but have her ACTUALLY watch him save people and even take part in it.
>Have her see Aku's evil first hand instead of second hand accounts of it.
Have episode 9 as the big battle between Jack and Aku, then episode 10 as an epilogue so that the ending doesn't feel so rushed.
Also, what the fuck was up with the wolf thing? I was positive the wolf would come back and save Jack in the final battle but he just never did.
