why DONT you use latex for your resume or reports?
i used to fight with word to make my resume until my lord and savior came latex with premade BEAUTIFUL templates that you dont need to fight in order to make into your own. any sci student worth anything should know latex.

you just need to find a template you like and you can create your own documents easily basically replace their info with their info (atleast for resume) google how to change aspects (you will need to google in the beginning) for reports you basically just type put subject marking and stuff and thats it

Pic related are my personal math notes that I use for printing out. While LaTeX is pretty good for formal writing, it's not necessarily the best option for practical day-to-day use when it comes to mathematics if you're taking notes live or are on a time crunch.

Otherwise, once you are able to set up the chapter environments, margins, fonts, etc. via TikZ, the results are consistent throughout your entire document. Also, using \input and \include speeds up rendering 10000x

I know OP is just talking about resume or reports, so I don't mean to cum and sperg all over the thread. But to add, I think something like Obsidian.md is more practical for quickly typing up notes as it organizes your notes in a comfy fashion and you can reference other pages within your notes. Also, the TeX output is 100% real-time if you're looking for that. You can also simply CTRL+V paste in imagery, audio and video files which are playable within the software. But once I learned about Obsidian I got considerably less patient with LaTeX since the software is so much better for quick-drafting something that looks decent
