Pic related are my personal math notes that I use for printing out. While LaTeX is pretty good for formal writing, it's not necessarily the best option for practical day-to-day use when it comes to mathematics if you're taking notes live or are on a time crunch.
Otherwise, once you are able to set up the chapter environments, margins, fonts, etc. via TikZ, the results are consistent throughout your entire document. Also, using \input and \include speeds up rendering 10000x
