>>99505038I liked Bismuth, but I love Jasper's struggles with her fusion issues and loneliness, her self loathing and faltering self worth, her feeling that she's undeserving of her high rank and heroic status because she sees herself as a failure, and her obsession with making up for being a gem from a shitty kindergarten on Earth, which is Homeworld's most hated planet. He flaws and plight are very morally grey and human, and she's got her own tragic story going on about being this perfect child soldier who's been alone her whole life and can't fit into Homeworld's society because she's aware of the stigma against her home planet and gems who fail their purpose like herself.
Overall, she causes a lot of her own problems because she's a self destructive asshole that thinks she deserves to suffer and puts other people down just to make herself feel better, but she's got sympathetic reasons for being that way.
Jasper is also the only Pink Diamond gem that cares enough about her to come back to Earth and try to personally avenge her, and I want to see her become more involved with this murder mystery arc after she comes back because she's the one who started it and can possibly offer a new perspective.
Also also, once she's healed I want to see how her corruption will end up affecting her emotionally.
Also also also, I want to see her reunite with the other Earth gems.
If Bismuth comes back permanently, I want Steven to take what he's learned about Rose and Homeworld into account and try to find a middle ground between his pacifism and her extremist ideologies. Potential allies shouldn't be slaughtered just because they're victims to Homeworld's false propaganda and conditioning, but the Diamonds need to be stopped. She's totally drunk the Rose kool-aid though, so I don't know if she'd be able to offer much help to the Pink Diamond mystery.
