>>83000924I liked V for Vendetta more, though I was introduced to it through the film and they butchered the characters and, by extension, a lot of the major themes of the story.
V had interesting colors and pretty good art, though strict realism gets boring after awhile because it looks like a movie. Watchmen also went for realism, but it was less precise and had more noticable black accents, which made it look more muddied. Then there was the fact that the paneling is outright boring, with everything being uniform nearly the entire series. The pacing, because of that, is actually really wonderful, and I feel the colorist did an excellent job with his alternating color schemes between panels. But it was simply not engaging, and it took me awhile before I actually started reading past the first chapter.
V was more accessible and enjoyable, but I don't think it was any less meaningful.
