>>98802137>I've heard comic book sales are down, is it because of this sort of shit? Its a combination of reasons. The primary reason is that floppy comics are no longer a viable business model. They cost too much and they don't last long enough. They are also a bitch to store and the collector's meme is a lie. No one reads comics when they can play video games or watch movies.
Secondly you have the liberal push. There are a good number of anons on this board who will deny it. They'll just vaguely blame things on bad writing and editing. And while that's true to a degree, it's also always been the case with comics. There have always been badly written and badly edited comics since day one. But it's only within the past 5 or 10 years where "the culture war" has taken root in the industry. In ALL industries. It started with journalism. The video game community had their notorious clash with the liberal mob (gamergate). Then comics got infected, and music, which ultimately spread to movies (The Last Jedi). We're witnessing a mass push of liberal ideas, at the cost of quality product. Liberals are more occupied with subverting culture and spreading their enlightened message than they are with doing their jobs properly.
Finally, you have the issue of liberal entitlement when dealing with the fans online. Liberal creators and their allies see any dissenting opinion as bullying or harassment. They block all discourse and play the victim, often sending their lapdog supporters on a witch hunt to destroy people with politics they disagree with. Creators publicly disrespect paying customers because they feel like it's within their right. "Don't buy my book" they'll say, satisfied in their victory of blocking another naysayer. But time and again they fail to understand that you don't build a business on "fuck you pay me"
