It just sucked as a FF film feature. It feels like a Ghibli film, like a Nausicaa + Castle in the Sky plot fusion.
You could legit just give the script to Ghibli and they could animate it, on a frame by frame adaptation, and it'd probably get an 8 or 9 out of 10 score.
