>>97920664Oh, I misunderstood, that makes sense. But I still think it'd be a good explanation.
Four Diamonds, they want more power, so they use machines to siphon matter from a colony. Maybe White was the first, then Yellow, then Blue, then Pink was the youngest.
But the process takes too long, even for immortals, so they make a drone to do it for them. Then they make another one, more specialized for building. And another, more specialized for making the environment more suitable for colonization ("A Lapis terraforms"), And then another drone to make sure the drones are coming out correctly, then Peridots for kindergardens, then pearls for personal servitude and rewards, and so on and so forth, suddenly they have an empire.
All of this is just as an explanation: WHY would an immortal being need colonies or resources?
Gems don't need to eat or sleep or breathe oxygen, they don't have limited lifespan. Humans invade and colonize for resources, we need resources due to scarcity, of food, of water, of land, gems don't need any of that, so why build an entire empire based on colonizing planets?
But I mean yeah I'm overthinking. It'd be neat to know what Sucrose would say.
