Honestly, I like Felicia x Peter because of how they developed over the years. Peter latched onto her because she was a strong, smart, capable woman who could hold her own in a fight. She was someone Peter felt he could be with without worrying if a supervillain would capture her or worse, kill her. Felicia liked Peter, or rather, Spider-Man, because he changed things up, brought something new into the never-ending adrenaline rush that was her life. Being with Spidey mean a good time busting heads.
Then you have the breakup. Peter introduces Felicia to the man behind the mask, and Felicia can't reconcile the two; Spider-Man, just some down on his luck nobody? There was no way! They drifted apart, but eventually, Felicia realized that in the end, Peter Parker and Spider-Man were one and the same, and she still loved him. Yet, it had been long enough that Peter finally started going out with Mary Jane, and Felicia... did not take it well. At all.
She went fucking nutters. She'd gone so far as to threaten MJ not to fuck up the good thing she had going with Peter, because there would be hell to pay, and constantly entertained ideas of driving them apart. Yet, at some point she realized that MJ was the one that Peter loved, and not her, and she would rather see him happy than be selfish enough to tear the two apart. Peter and Felicia remain friends, and Felicia leaves the picture for a while to find herself.
Fast forward to the '04 Marvel Knights run, and Felicia's back in town, and saves Peter as he's being hounded by the Vulture, which Felicia doesn't take kindly to. She's caught up to speed on the mess Peter's in now, and she helps him without hesitation. She even said, when they went to bust Norman Osborn out of prison to save Aunt May, that she would gladly take on the job alone if it meant that Peter didn't have to compromise his beliefs and morals. It is made VERY clear that she still loved Peter.
Then OMD and then Slott shot it all to hell. Damn it.
