>>92816775>imlying I give my money to the mouseI haven't spent a dime on anything Marvel since 2013. The only reason DC's got my money was that I was fooled like many others by Batman v. Superman.
I hate the DCEU/WB as much as I despise Marvel/Disney with their fucking brainwashing. The problem, however is the DCEU's whole design and structure is flawed with a plethora of problems. I mean, sure, you can pull that "it's too complicated for mainstream audiences", but then the argument is this -- when is the majority wrong or right? I feel like things get universally panned for a reason, and Batman v. Superman got PANNED. And Suicide Squad was literally just a cheaper version of Guardians of the Galaxy, but more "edgy" and if Harley weren't in it, no one would've seen or liked it. The fact of the matter is that Wonder Woman (and this take on the character for this universe) is not to my liking because I don't like the path this whole cinematic universe is heading, I don't like its style, I don't like it's Batman, it's Superman, it's Joker, etc. That being said, though, I'm glad Wonder Woman was decent, and remain optimistic that Aquaman will be fantastic.
If this were a soft reboot of the DCEU or something, then I'd be even more satisfied. But it's not. I still don't like it much enough to continue supporting this brand.
And trust me, the same goes for Marvel, too. The Russo brothers are shit at directing a big-scale superhero movies, Marvel has become formulaic, their villains are still garbage, the filming of each film is garbage, Sony has learned nothing, the directors for these Marvel films shoot each flick with terrible cinematography, cheap as fuck effects, horrific music, missed opportunities, and over all quality is just gone. It's like they don't even need to try anymore, and people will eat it up. Well, if they're not going to bother with their comics or films, why should I bother with them?
